Spring Flowers

This post isn't really gardening related, but flowery nonetheless.  I have very hungry bandit squirrels that eat the blooms off of my flowers which is part of the reason I started taking pictures to begin with.  All of my tulips have been munched now, but I am still surrounded by beautiful flowers other places and I can't help smiling at them wherever I go.

My office is surrounded by dogwood trees and we have lots of windows to allow us to see them.

Gorgeous!  I wish I would have taken some more time to get better pictures, but I didn't want co-workers looking at me strangely as I snapped shots through the office windows. LOL.

A beautiful bouquet of tulips came to me at work this week too.  Just beautiful!

I bought some Easter Lilies for my mother-in-law.  They smelled and looked so good, I might have to go get some for myself!

More flowers in bloom

It seems like every day there are more beautiful tulips popping up, so I thought I would share them with you too!  I'm just thrilled with them.

I'm so excited that my tulips and daffodils are blooming.  It has been raining almost nonstop here for about a week but it's worth it now that my garden is exploding with gorgeous color.

I'm SO excited that my bulbs are blooming.

Last year, my husband & I moved into our townhouse when I was about 4 months pregnant.  I had been keeping a container garden for years in whatever apartment patio I had at the time.  But this was the first time, I was able to plant flowers and plants in the ground.  I was really excited, however, I had no idea how hard it would be.  The ground was really hard mostly due to the fact that it filled with rocks and weeds and sticks and a couple of inches down there was a layer of black plastic.  It was the most horrible thing to try and plant in.  I actually ended up digging up several railroad ties that someone buried under the layer of rocks.  It was unbelievable.  After I dug everything out and laid down some mulch, it actually turned out really nicely.

Anyway, due to the time frame we moved I wasn't able to plant bulbs last year, but I did plant a few other plants that turned out beautifully:
